We Are Carbon Neutral

Carbon neutrality is achieved by identifying a carbon footprint and reducing it to zero through a combination of efficiency measures in-house and by supporting external emission reduction projects.

Paragon is a carbon neutral brand. We offset CO2 emissions from our offices, operations, supply chain, and shipping. We’ve partnered with an industry leader in carbon recapture, Pachama, to support forest monitoring and conservation projects under the Verified Carbon Standard. through the following projects:

  • Jari Pará (REDD+ Avoided Unplanned Deforestation Project)
  • Madre de Dios (REDD+ Avoided Unplanned Deforestation Project)
  • Brazil nut concessions (REDD+ Avoided Unplanned Deforestation Project)
  • Agrocortex (REDD+ Avoided Unplanned Deforestation Project)
  • Alto Huayabamba Conservation (REDD+ Avoided Unplanned Deforestation Project)
We are carbon neutral certified by Pachama.

Paragon is constantly developing.

Our core mission is offering basics and essential items in timeless understated styles and colors - all made to last. We are proudly slow fashion, not fast fashion.

We are working towards more insight & transparency.

We know exactly how and where our carbon offset activities are happening - we choose them. Pachama is a leader here and stands out from a number of other carbon recapture companies. They work directly with project developers wherever possible to make sure money gets sent to those protecting forests.

We are working towards effectiveness.

Pachama’s shining specialty is tree management and monitoring. Unlike some carbon offsets organizations, we can be confident our offsets are really happening because the forests are closely monitored. Projects use the money from our support toward activities that protect and restore forests in cooperation with local communities, including hiring security staff to protect boundaries, planting of seedlings, or creating new facilities to support forest-based jobs.

We are discovering more ways to support recapture.

Carbon neutrality categorically cannot be achieved by a company who doesn’t engage in some kind of carbon recapture process. We're looking at other ways we could support carbon recapture, as well as trying to reduce our initial footprint.

We are realistic.

We have ambitious and realistic goals that we’re actively working on, making progress on, or largely already solved. One of the upsides of being small is that we can make changes relatively quickly - it’s months or years instead of decades like the bigger corporations. It’s not all hopes and dreams over here.

Here are just a few examples of progress we’ve already made:

  • All of our products are shipped in recycled mailers.
  • We started using biodegradable packing bags with our biggest supplier in 2019.
  • We’ve switched to predominantly sea shipping in 2020.

See the steps we’re taking:

  • Improving environmental consciousness in management of our supply chain
  • Continue reducing style turnover with more focus on capsuling your wardrobe
